Meeting in Budapest

Representatives from TAFISA and the Hungarian Leisure Sport Association met in Budapest, Hungary, from the 28th of June to the 1st of July to start the preparation of the 24th TAFISA World Congress 2015. This working meeting was the occasion for both parties not only to discuss logistics and organisational matters, but also to secure the Congress theme, “Sport for All: the Ultimate Legacy”. The group also visited the Congress venue; the beautifully restored Vigado Concert Hall, located in the heart of Budapest along the ornament of the Danube promenade and other cultural wonders Budapest has to offer.

All TAFISA members and stakeholders will receive a first announcement and invitation in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for the coming website launch! Details about registration, congress fees, accommodation arrangements and call for papers will follow soon.

This meeting was also an opportunity for TAFISA to experience the active City of Budapest. The “Night of Movement”, a new and innovative sports festival concept, was organised for the first time on the 28th of June and gathered more than 10 000 dwellers from 10pm to 4am. Participants could try out various atypical sports including dragon boat, speedminton and korfball, and also attend a giant zumba class. The Hungarian Leisure Sport Association was fully engaged in the exciting program, presenting Boccia and “Nowathlon”, a mix of Nordic Walking and Orienteering.
